Jackie Van Noy, CVT, BS, AAS
Before my second profession as a veterinary technician, I spent 23 years as an Information Technology specialist. I started working as a kennel assistant and IT specialist at Blessing Animal Hospital in Cody, WY shortly before attending Eastern Wyoming College's Veterinary Technology Program. After graduation in 2001, I returned to work at Blessing Animal Hospital (now Lifetime Small Animal Hospital) as a full time CVT. During that time I managed to move the clinic to paperless. In 2014, she started working at Advanced Veterinary Care Center as a receptionist and part time CVT. In 2016, the clinic changed ownership and moved to a Veterinary Practice Management Software system and by June 2019 the clinic went paperless. I joined the WyVTA as a Charter Member as the Member-At-Large in December 2001 just prior to graduating from EWC and have served as a board member every year, but 1 since then. The last time the Wyoming Veterinary Practice Act was open I spent a lot of hours as the Association president talking to veterinarians, state representatives, and senators about having CVTs recognized. That year the measure passed the Senate, but was voted down by the House of Representatives by a very small margin. Hopefully the next time the Veterinary Practice Act is opened we will finally be recognized. Outside of work I've trained as a Master Gardner and participate in several gardening groups.
