The Wyoming Veterinary Technician Association is dedicated to advancing veterinary technology by providing quality continuing education, increasing awareness of the significance of our profession, and elevating the standards of the entire veterinary support team.

WELCOME

Statewide support for ALL veterinary staff including:

• Continuing education at least once per year
• Opportunities to get involved with the community to teach them about the veterinary health care team (i.e. ideas and support for local functions)
• Social events
• Team efforts for supporting the veterinary health care team and a chance to get involved at the state and national levels to promote veterinary technology
• Experienced individuals with leadership, camaraderie, and a sounding board to discuss issues, articles, jobs, futures, and etc.

Melanie Beardsley, CVT

Melanie grew up on a ranch in South Dakota. She graduated from Eastern Wyoming College with an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 2002. She is currently the head technician at Best Friends Animal Health Center in Casper, WY and has been at this hospital since 2008.

Melanie appreciates the special challenges and constant changes that present themselves every day in practice. Special work interests include dentistry, anesthesia, inventory, and personnel management.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys trail rides with her horses, hiking or snow shoeing with her Bernese Mountain Dog, camping/traveling with her husband, yoga, and art.
